Snug as a bug in a rug!
Your den is all ready and waiting for your arrival; fresh baked bread and flowers from the garden on your table. The double bed is warm and inviting with its sprung mattress, crisp cotton linen, thick duvet and vintage wool blanket. In winter we will put the heating on ready for you and in summer we will hang up the hammock. All you need to do is unpack the car and move in!
Light up the camp-fire (or ask us to), decide where to have dinner (cook in the pig shed or cook over your fire?) watch the sun set and the stars come out. Crawl into your bed and enjoy the blissful silence. Wake up to the sound of birds singing, open the curtains and watch the clouds and the red kites soaring overhead. Take tea and toast on the veranda in the morning sun and plan your day. Will it be beach or forest?
Warm and dry all year round, the eco-dens (designed and built by Lyndon) are stuffed with insulation and feature double glazing and electric heating to keep you cosy in winter and cool in summer. Turf roofs help the dens to blend in to their environment and to keep them quiet if the weather outside gets blustery.
The den interiors feature a simple Nordic style with a flexible layout that can cater for families, couples or sharers. There is a double bed, a pull-down table, two single beds which stow away during the day as a day bed or sofa, curtains, stack-able stools and some simple storage and shelving. Lighting is electric and there is a socket. We provide fleeces to use round the campfire on chilly evenings, a mirror, dustpan and brush and hooks. There is a huge storage space under the double bed for luggage.
The dens are ‘pitched’ to take advantage of the beautiful views down the meadow and across the ponds and the rising and setting of the sun.
