Family Friendly

Make childhood memories for your kids with a stay at One Cat Farm. We do everything we can to make fun holidays for kids and easy (fun!) breaks for mum and dad. Kids thrive in the great outdoors with space to roam and explore. Parents love that they can relax, safe in the knowledge that their kids can run wild in a safe environment, never too far away. Kids confidence grows from having the freedom to roam and parents get a chance to actually catch up and spend some quality time together round the campfire.

Away from work and technological distractions life becomes simpler, time slows down and guests find they have time to play board games, read stories, go pond dipping, look for 4 leaf clovers and re-connect with their children.

On site there are loads of new skills for little ones to learn: respect for the campfire, building and lighting a campfire, toasting marshmallows, rowing the boat, pond dipping, star spotting, a scavenger hunt, wildlife spotting and making new friends. Taking a night walk with a torch is a popular activity- the pleasure and sheer terror of total darkness!

Close to site there are numerous beautiful beaches and plenty of walks suitable for little legs. From site there is a waterfall that you can walk to and down the road the fairies have moved in to the woods and you can see their doors in the trees. A secret walled garden designed with children in mind is a 5-minute drive from us, and Llanerchaeron National Trust property is only 1.5 miles away. With a working farm, Manor house, acres of parkland and good café, it is a brilliant day out. Cardigan Bay has resident bottlenose dolphins, porpoises and seals all of which can be regularly spotted from the shore or you could try a dolphin watching boat trip. Slightly further afield are 2 nature reserves, a fantastic child friendly museum with regular activities the National Library of Wales and two castles to clamber on.

On a practical note, we provide high chairs, children’s cutlery and crockery, games, colouring equipment, cots, a baby changing table, toddler loo seats, anti slip shower mats, life vests (for the rowing boat) pond dipping equipment, a map of the stars, scavenger hunt lists and much more to make your packing easier. Most children enjoy the fun of bringing their own sleeping bags but we can also provide single duvets and even towels if you wish.   We have 3 young children of our own so really do appreciate what is involved in going away and have tried to think of every possible thing to ensure that your stay is as easy as possible.
